Local Art and Handicraft Shops: On Seetla- Mukteshwar road – there are three local shops run by different NGOs – Kilmora, Avani and Himadri Hans supporting and promoting local crafts, and organic foods.
Satkhol Ashram: The Satkhol Himalayan Ashram, also known as Satkhol Ashram, is a spiritual and wellness retreat located in the Himalayan region of India.
This hike starts at the retreat and you walk on a trail to the natural spring along a mostly level trail. Only the start and end are a descent / ascend.
Walk from the retreat onto the road, and then up to the ridge where the local administration has built a few covered shelters. The distance is short but the ascent and descent are substantial
Same as the walk to Natural Spring described above, but about 500 metres further to the Chatola village temple.
to catch a great sunset. Along the road initially but then a gentle hike along a forest trail.
Walk to Mukteshwar.
This is about 12 km round drip with the first 3 km on the road and then on a steep trail heading up through the forest reserve to Mukteshwar.
Just a short drive away from Satkhol, Mukteshwar is a picturesque hill station known for its panoramic views of the Himalayan ranges. The Mukteshwar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is a prominent attraction here. With deodar and pine forests, Mukteshwar is a popular getaway to see the Himalayan peaks. Mukteshwar is mostly known for the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI).
Adjacent to Mukteshwar temple are the natural rock formations that jut out of the hill face like spikes. The name “Chauli Ki Jali” translates to “rock screen” or “chink in the rock.” This is aptly descriptive of the geological formation itself. The site is characterized by a series of rugged cliffs and crevices that create an intricate pattern resembling a delicate mesh. Perched at an elevation of around 2,500 meters (8,200 feet), Chauli Ki Jali provides stunning vistas of the surrounding Himalayan peaks and valleys.
For adventure seekers, Chauli Ki Jali offers an array of heart-pounding activities. Rappelling and rock climbing are particularly popular here due to the natural rock formations that provide a thrilling setting for these activities.
Bhaalu Gaad Waterfalls
About 20 km from Satkhol, Bhaalu Gaad waterfalls, cascading down a series of rocky steps, are a great destination for a half-day trip.
Nainital, often referred to as the “Lake District of India,” is a captivating hill, about 50 km from Satkhol.
