Common Spaces

Book Lounge

The book lounge is the place where silence gives way to rich conversations and lots of laughter. This is the site of magical bonhomie that comes into being when seasoned travellers gather together.

The book lounge is a wooden house with wall-to-wall French windows and a skylight roof, lined with a carefully curated collection of books for all tastes and sensibilities. A traditional, hand-crafted Bukhari in the middle of the room keeps it warm and cosy even during the cold winters. This is also the place where all the meals are served and enjoyed.

the Island

The island is our outdoor common sit-out area, offering majestic 270-degree views of the distant mountains and valleys. On clear days, you might just catch the magical first rays of the sun falling upon the snow-clad peaks. Nights bring a sky overcrowded with stars, whizzing satellites, and maybe a shooting star or two.  You could spend time here admiring the beautiful colours of the butterflies, moths, other bugs and birds. Others prefer reading, writing, hanging out with fellow travellers, or simply doing nothing (our favourite!). When the weather permits, we also serve breakfast here.
